The International 2016: Final Day Recap

As we head into the final day at The International 2016, the largest annual Dota 2 tournament sponsored by Valve, only three teams are left standing. Digital Chaos, Evil Geniuses and Wings will battle it out to see who will take home over 20 million dollars in prizes. Wings Gaming is representing China in the tournament, with Digital Chaos and Evil Geniuses representing the Americas. See the updated bracket below to see how these three teams climbed their way to the top.

TI6 Final Day Bracket

As you can see Wings Gaming’s victory over defending champions us Evil Geniuses today means they are officially competing in the Grand Finals. The Grand Finals take place today, Saturday August 13th. Broadcast begins on Twitch and the tournament’s official website at 10:00am PDT. Each match will begin after the previous one concludes. Wings were also responsible for beating Digital Chaos and knocking them down to the lower-bracket. What is more spectacular is that Wings went undefeated in the playoffs but had 2-0 loses to Navi and TNC in prior group stages.

Evil Geniuses competition in the lower-bracket will be Digital Chaos, a team who is coming off a successful victory against team Fnatic. Digital Chaos not only beat Fnatic, but also are on a four match win streak after defeating LGD-Gaming, TNC Pro Team and EHOME in the lower-bracket. Evil Geniuses and Digital Chaos have crossed paths once before in the NA Qualifiers for TI6. The winner between Digital Chaos and Evil Geniuses early morning matches will go on to play against Wings in the Grand Finale later that afternoon.
