ELEAGUE Regular Season’s Format Announced

Turner and WME | IMG have announced the regular season tournament format for the debut of ELEAGUE, which will pit four teams against one another in group stages each week.  During ELEAGUE’s group stages, each of the four teams will play twice in a round-robin system.  These games will take place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  For any games won the winning team will receive one point.  At the end of the stage on Wednesday the points will be tallied in order to rank the group. On Thursdays the 1st and 4th rank teams will play each other – along with the 2nd and 3rd rank teams.  The winners of those two group matches will competing in the Friday night showcase which will be aired on TBS (10pm ET).  All other group stage games will be broadcasted live across various digital platforms.

The winner of each groups will play in the playoff round, beginning in Week 9.  The runner-up will get a second opportunity in the “Last Chance Qualifier” round in Week 8.

The first three group stages include:

  • Week 1 (Week of May 23) – Cloud9, Liquid, Luminosity Gaming and Renegades
  • Week 2 (Week of May 30) – G2 eSports, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), Optic and TyLoo
  • Week 3 (Week of June 6) – Astralis, Counter Logic Gaming (CLG), NRG and SK Gaming
